I am Marrieke van Geel, a human factors consultant with over 20 years of experience. I graduated cum laude from TU Delft in 2002 as an industrial designer with a specialization in ergonomics. Since then, I have been dedicated to creating functional designs for control rooms, user interfaces and medical products. My goal has always been to tailor designs to the work processes and tasks of the end user. If the end user is satisfied, I consider it a success. Over the years I have acquired extensive experience in structuring projects and have a clear understanding of the steps needed to achieve an optimal design. This enables me to work efficiently.
I firmly believe that without user input, optimal design is impossible. I find great satisfaction in involving end users in the design process, where we can learn from each other and collectively achieve the best results. Consequently, organizing workshops is an integral part of my approach. When end users are deeply engaged in the process, the design becomes truly theirs, leading to increased user acceptance.
